Building the Next Generation of Construction Workforce
The AGC Construction Education Foundation (AGC CEF) was founded by the Associated General Contractors of California (AGC), to develop and promote educational programs that expand and strengthen the professionalism and effectiveness of people in the construction industry. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit benefit corporation, and rely on donations to carry out our mission to establish construction as a viable career option and to promote the development of construction careers.
Board of Directors
Board of Directors is comprised of industry professionals, educators representing the K-12 and community colleges, who share a common vision of providing information and resources that, will help to develop the highly skilled workforce so desperately needed by the construction industry.
Programs & Services
Construction Career Awareness Programs
Each year the AGC CEF funds Construction Career Awareness Day (CCAD) events across California and Virtual Construction Career Fairs. CCAD's provide 9th - 12th grade students the opportunity to meet and interact with construction professionals about the numerous career paths available in the industry, while Virtual Career Fairs offer online recruiting for companies interested in connecting with Construction Management students, graduates and veterans. We also provide outreach information for students, teachers and parents through the "Build Your Career" program.
AGC Student Chapters exist at accredited two- and four-year schools offering programs in construction management, construction technology, and construction-related engineering. Membership in an AGC Student Chapter provides students with an opportunity to learn, observe and develop their skills with current leaders in the industry. The AGC CEF supports the activities for 12 active student chapters in California.
Scholarships & Contributions
AGC CEF provides
scholarships for students pursing post-secondary education and/or training in construction and related programs. We also provide contributions to local construction education programs and schools.
