Training & Education Manager
SUMMARY: As a crucial part of the management team, the Training & Education Manager, reporting to the Director of Training & Education, is responsible for the successful execution of virtual and in-person training programs. This includes operational, financial, and programmatic outcomes. The role involves meticulous program management, budgetary oversight, and ensuring quality and assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: included but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the Director of Training & Education and the executive team in the strategic planning and delivery of digital training & education goals and initiatives, offering regular updates on progress.
- Identify industry and member training requirements and work with the Director in crafting comprehensive training and education strategies, including class and course offerings.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality learning content, including sourcing and managing third-party industry experts, consultants, and trainers.
- Handle all logistics involved in planning, executing, and evaluating virtual and in-person training, including budget management, timeline planning, registration process, vendor contracts, ongoing content management/updates, and post-event evaluations.
- Ensure the Training & Education program operates within its budget, tracking and reporting financial performance to the Director. Tracks and prepares financial reports and works with AGC’s finance team directly to ensure overall program reconciliation on required basis.
- Manage the development, implementation, and upkeep of training programs as well as individual training course accreditation.
- Oversee the creation and execution of effective marketing plans for the Training & Education program and partnering closely with the communications and marketing department and Brand & Content Manager to deliver effective marketing and outreach campaigns.
- Manage program event sponsors, including invoicing, benefit delivery, and appreciation acknowledgments.
- Assist with research, tracking, and development of grant applications related to the program, coordinating with the executive assistant for timely submission and progress reports.
- Compile annual data and evaluation reports for the Training & Education program, tracking participation and summarizing stakeholder evaluations.
- Represent the organization at Training & Education meetings, industry conferences, and networking events.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with strategic partners, vendors, speakers, sponsors, members, volunteers, and other contributors.
- Offer backup program development, management, or other support for related programs or services as necessary.
- Responsible for managing and developing the Senior Training & Education Coordinator by crafting goals, providing timely feedback, inspiring further professional development and continuing to challenge the Coordinator through a career trajectory/employee development plan where/when relevant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises the Senior Training & Education Coordinator and carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or related field from an accredited college or university or technical school and a minimum of three years of professional experience in construction industry and/or youth/workforce development programs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
