Since launching in September 2019, Build California has reached more than 7.5 million students, parents, teachers, influencers and job-seekers across the state through its robust mix of outreach and programmatic efforts, educating them on the incredible career opportunities available in the construction industry.
All summer, AGC of California (AGC) member companies of all sizes and types have been busy investing time and resources into developing the next generation of the construction industry workforce and leadership by hosting summer internship programs. However, at AGC we’ve heard from our members that getting a quality, effective and sustainable summer internship program off the ground can be challenging, especially for mid to small size contractors.
AGC of California’s Student Chapters have been recognized for their commitment to community service by the state and national AGC chapters. In fact, over the last 10 years the Chico State AGC Student Chapter has been recognized by AGC of America seven times and another three times by AGC of California. Last year, the student chapter was named the winner of the “Outstanding Student Chapter: Community Service Award,” an award granted to Student Chapters that epitomize supporting, engaging and benefiting communities through service and leadership.
Educate and inform. That's what Build California strives for! Our mission to create a steady, motivated, and skilled workforce pipeline for California's construction industry is pushed forward by educating and informing young people, their influencers, and our society about Build California’s offerings and the construction industry.
AGC of California offers in-person, private, on-demand and live virtual trainings tailored for all levels of construction industry employees. Courses are taught by instructors recognized as the best in the industry.
