In June 2021, Build California visited Sheldon High School in Elk Grove, one of Build California’s SMUD Shine partner schools. Organized by Building Trades Teacher, Jeff Merker, this was the first time in 31 years that the school hosted a three-week summer enrichment program where students attended simply to learn and not earn school credits. A total of 34 students participated and got to build a hand-crafted nightstand.
