In today’s demanding construction environment, effective field leadership is critical to maintaining safety, productivity, and team morale. This interactive, instructor-led workshop provides construction professionals with practical, field-tested strategies to strengthen leadership effectiveness and improve team performance.

Participants will learn how to apply the MORE framework – Model, Observe, Respond, and Empower—to lead with clarity, identify early signs of stress, and foster a culture of trust and accountability on the jobsite. Emphasis is placed on real-world application, equipping attendees with tools they can immediately implement to reduce rework, improve communication, and support workforce well-being.

Research shows that ineffective leadership contributes to increased stress, turnover, and lost productivity, while constructive leadership practices are directly linked to improved outcomes. This course addresses these challenges by focusing on actionable leadership behaviors that drive measurable results in construction settings.

  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors that promote stability and clarity under pressure

About the Instructors

Stephen Dummit
Stephen Dummit, Founder (Tradewinds Leadership)

Before Stephen Dummit was speaking on leadership, he was learning it the hard way in the trades. He did not come to this work from a textbook. He came from the jobsite. From long shifts, time away from home, and firsthand experience with the pressure that so many people in blue-collar industries carry without talking about.

He knows technical skill is only part of the job. Leading people well takes something more. Now, through Tradewinds Leadership, he helps field leaders build trust, improve communication, and create stronger, more connected teams with tools that are practical, direct, and built for the real world.
