The AGC Government Affairs team is undoubtably the voice of the Construction Industry in California. The team of dedicated individuals work to assure that all proposed legislation that impacts our industry is clearly understood and takes the appropriate action. They do a great job of educating legislators, informing the membership, and soliciting input. Their relationships with our state legislators give the AGC a seat at the table.

AGC was able to really illustrate why we should be deemed essential and why California needed our work to continue, but also how we were able as an industry to really keep our workers safe. As contractors, we could not have advocated for ourselves in the way that AGC was able to because of their relationships

AGC secured construction’s “Essential” status by working with the Governor’s office after the initial Stay-at-Home order to ensure construction was deemed an essential industry.
This effort further ensured that restrictions in local government ordinances on public and private projects were removed.
