In just six months as an Ambassador, Jordan, President of JMJ Construction, has already made a strong impact, attending multiple Build California activations and consistently showing up to inspire students and support his community. His dedication to sharing real-world insight and encouraging the next generation truly embodies the mission of Build California.
Jordan’s passion, leadership, and commitment to workforce development have not gone unnoticed. We are proud to recognize him for his hard work in helping shape the future of the construction industry and couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this spotlight.
Build California: What is your unique construction story and how do you think it will help inspire students to join the industry?
Jordan: My path into construction wasn’t traditional. I started in corporate roles before a family member asked me to help launch a playground construction company. What began as administrative support quickly turned into hands-on learning across every part of the business. Within two years, I earned my contractor’s license and started my own company. I hope my story shows students that construction is an accessible, learnable career path if you’re willing to put in the work.
Build California: Why are you passionate about supporting the next generation of construction workers?
Jordan: As a father of three teenagers, this is personal for me. I see the need for clear, sustainable career pathways, especially for students who may not want a traditional college route. I want young people to know that construction offers meaningful, well-paid opportunities and that they’re capable of succeeding with the right guidance and exposure.
Build California: What is your favorite part about being a Build California Ambassador?
Jordan: The connection. I enjoy not only sharing my experience but also listening to students and understanding their goals. Those conversations help bridge the gap between curiosity and career direction, and it’s rewarding to be part of that journey.
Build California: Why do you think others should become Ambassadors?
Jordan: It’s an opportunity to make a real impact. You truly get out as much as you put in. By sharing your experience and mentoring students, you can help shape the next generation of the construction workforce.
Thank you, Jordan, for your continued dedication to inspiring the next generation and representing the construction industry with passion and purpose.
