Associate Achievement Award
This award honors the hard work and dedication of exceptional AGC of California Associate Members. To be eligible, an Associate Member must have been engaged in providing a product or service to the construction industry for a minimum of 15 years, be a member in good standing or member-in-retirement. Qualified nominees will have made a significant contribution to the construction industry and be held in esteem by his/her peers.
Contractor Achievement Award
This award recognizes the significant contributions to AGC and the construction industry by individual member contractors. To be eligible, a person must have worked in the construction industry for a minimum of 25 years, be a member in good standing or a member-in-retirement of the AGC of California and be held in esteem by his/her peers. No Past President of the AGC of California shall be eligible for this award.
S.I.R. Achievement Award
This award honors Skill, Integrity and Responsibility. To be eligible, the individual may be from the public or private sector and must have made an outstanding contribution to California’s construction industry. No employee or member of the association shall be eligible for the S.I.R. Award.
Specialty Contractor Achievement Award
This award recognizes the significant contributions to AGC and the construction industry by individual member specialty contractors. To be eligible, a person must have worked in the construction industry for a minimum of 15 years, be a member in good standing or a member-in-retirement of the AGC of California and be held in esteem by his/her peers. No Past President of the AGC of California shall be eligible for this award.

Associate Achievement Award
Mary Grandy, EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants
Mary Gandy, Senior Vice President of EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, has tirelessly dedicated her time and talents to AGC of California and is a well-recognized leader in the insurance and construction industry. She began working in her field starting in 1995 with AAA, and has held progressively greater roles with USAA, the Leavitt Group and EPIC Insurance Brokers. Her in-depth expertise in litigated construction claims has made her a standout within the industry. As a result, she is the recipient of several construction and insurance industry accolades. Mary has been a strong and highly engaged leader with AGC of California for nearly a decade, making a significant impact on increasing membership growth and engagement. She currently serves as Chair of the Delta Sierra District, which followed a two-year term as the Vice Chair, and she is an active two-term State Board of Directors member. Mary was also Chair of the Associates Council in 2015 and 2016.
Specialty Contractor Achievement Award
Greg Timmerman, ISEC, Inc.
Greg began with ISEC, Inc. in 1988 as an engineering technician. From there, he advanced through various leadership and operational roles and has been responsible for leadership development, oversight of multiple locations, and building strong relationships with ISEC, Inc.’s regional teams, key clients, and supply chain partners. In 2021, Greg was promoted to President and CEO where he will continue being instrumental in driving growth and upholding ISEC’s mission, “We Build for Life’s Most Important Events™”. Timmerman serves as a Vice President, Specialty Contractors Council, AGC of California where he encourages the council to engage on issues impacting the specialty contractor community. He also serves on AGC of California’s Executive Committee, as a Director on the AGC Orange County District Board of Director, and other professional and community organizations. From Emerging Leaders involvement, event attendance, sponsorships, state board and executive leadership participation, Greg has been an amazing partner to AGC, the industry and peers and strongly deserves this recognition.
S.I.R. Achievement Award
Robbie Hunter, State Building and Construction Trades Council of California
Robbie Hunter, former President of the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California (SBCTC) is one of the most influential labor officials in the state and has helped shape state policies on issues impacting California’s trades. Previously, Hunter served as Executive-Secretary of the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, where he negotiated agreements that incorporated all affiliated construction trades on individual projects, as well as master agreements with public and private entities like the Port of Los Angeles, LAX, Los Angeles Unified School District and Los Angeles Community College District. He had held that position since March 2011. Prior to that, he was Council Representative for the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, starting in 2009. He was in charge of public sector contract negotiations and representation, as well as organizing in north Los Angeles County. Hunter is an Ironworker, and was the president of Local 433, Structural Ironworkers, which is the largest Ironworker local union in the United States and Canada, from 2003 to 2009. He served on the District Council of Ironworkers for California and Nevada, and as a board member/apprenticeship instructor/trainer for the Joint Labor Management apprenticeship program in California and Nevada.
Contractor Achievement Award
Mike Aparicio, Skanska USA Civil West
Mike Aparicio, Executive Vice President for Skanska USA Civil West (Skanska), has served California’s construction industry for over 40 years. Under Mike’s leadership, billions of dollars in major projects have been completed or are currently under way and $700 million in contracts have been awarded to certified small business firms. He has gone above and beyond to promote the hiring of minority, women, local firms and staff, to provide hands-on support organizations impacting the local community, and to advocate for the growth of vital infrastructure investments. Mike is an ardent supporter of Mobility 21, advocating on behalf of contractors and the private sector at the local and state levels. He helped establish the first partnership between AGC and LA Metro and their first Private/Public Liaison Board. Mike has also played a key role in spurring transportation via local measures; assisted fundraising and legislative efforts for Prop 69 and the “No on 6” campaign to repeal SB1; and serves as a longstanding member of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. Mike has maintained a constant commitment to safety throughout his career, and in the 10 years, has overseen more than 150 projects that had zero lost time incidents and incurred over 15 million work hours.
