Announcing Marina & CLIC Scholarship Winners

The Associated General Contractors of California (AGC) and AGC Construction Education Foundation (AGC CEF) are pleased to announce the recipients of the AGC Safety Professional Scholarship!

The scholarships, valued at $2,500 and $1,000 respectively, have been awarded to two students who portray academic excellence working towards a degree in the following fields of interest: landscape construction, engineering, construction management, business administration, and/or related fields. The scholarships were also open to members of union trades specific to landscape careers.
Congratulations to our recipients:

  • Ali Oghani, CSU Chico; Marina Scholarship – $2,500
  • William Talamaivao, CSU Fullerton; CLIC Scholarship – $1,000

I am extremely thankful to Marina and AGC as they offered me the scholarship on probably the most difficult year of my life. I was struggling with unemployment and the pandemic. There was no way I could afford to work this semester due to the heavy class load and the Marina Scholarship made it so much easier for me to achieve my goal of getting my bachelor’s degree.

– Ali Oghani, CSU Chico

The CLIC scholarship was such a blessing. I have been working as a contractor for small construction and landscape projects for free to help other students get experience for the real world while making a difference! The CLIC team made it possible for me to continue helping others while supporting my schooling. I couldn’t have kept moving forward without their help. Thank you CLIC!
