CAD for Construction Firms I
This course is designed for casual CAD users who want to become proficient with everyday AutoCAD tasks. Learn the fundamentals of drafting, from creating lines and shapes to navigating model and paper space, and gain hands-on experience with essential editing tools like Move, Copy, Trim, Extend, Offset, and Mirror.
In construction, you don’t always need advanced drafting skills. But, being able to open a DWG file and make simple edits or calculations can save significant time and money. This course is designed for casual CAD users who want to become proficient with everyday AutoCAD tasks. Learn the fundamentals of drafting, from creating lines and shapes to navigating model and paper space, and gain hands-on experience with essential editing tools like Move, Copy, Trim, Extend, Offset, and Mirror. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to handle routine CAD tasks efficiently and confidently.
Session 1: Understanding the Basics
- Drafting Primitives (Lines, Arcs, Shapes)
- Drawing techniques using Direct and Dynamic Input
- Understanding Object Snaps
- Using ORTHO and POLAR
- The concepts of Model and Paper Space
Session 2: Simplified Drafting
- Working with Editing Tools
- Move and Copy
- Trim and Extend
- Offset and Mirror
Completion of this 4-hour course includes 4 CPC/CEU credits.
