CAD for Construction Firms II
This course is designed to help contractors and construction professionals confidently adjust and annotate design files for submittals, as-builts, and on-site coordination. You’ll learn to add text, dimensions, and symbols; create and manage blocks; work with layers; and properly scale drawings using layouts and annotative styles.
In construction, clear and accurate communication of what’s actually being built is essential. This course is designed to help contractors and construction professionals confidently adjust and annotate design files for submittals, as-builts, and on-site coordination. You’ll learn to add text, dimensions, and symbols; create and manage blocks; work with layers; and properly scale drawings using layouts and annotative styles. By the end of the class, you’ll be able to produce professional, accurate drawings that reflect real-world construction conditions.
Session 1: Annotations and Symbols
- Adding Text and Dimensions to drawings
- Creating and Inserting BLOCKS
- Understanding Text and Dimension Styles
- Understanding Leader Styles
- Working with Layers
Session 2: Scaling Drawings using Layouts
- Scaling Viewports
- Adjusting Dimension and Text settings using ANNOTATIVE Styles
- Creating multiple views on a single sheet
- Concept of EXTERNAL REFERENCING (XREF)
Completion of this 4-hour course includes 4 CPC/CEU credits.
