Hazard Communication
This course provides essential training on the Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom),
aligned with Cal/OSHA Title 8, Section 5194 requirements (also known as the "Right to Know"
regulation in California).
This course provides essential training on the Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom),
aligned with Cal/OSHA Title 8, Section 5194 requirements (also known as the “Right to Know”
regulation in California).
Participants learn to recognize chemical hazards in the workplace, interpret GHS (Globally
Harmonized System) labels and pictograms, read, and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDSs),
and identify health and physical risks associated with hazardous chemicals. Key topics include
employer responsibilities for maintaining a written HazCom program, maintaining chemical
inventories, proper labeling (including workplace labels), safe handling and storage practices, spill
response procedures, and employee rights to access hazard information.
The training covers Cal/OSHA-specific elements, such as integration with Proposition 65
warnings where applicable, and emphasizes preventing chemical-related injuries, illnesses, or
exposures through effective communication and protective measures.
