The College2Construct (C2C) Mentorship Program just wrapped another successful cycle, connecting college students with construction industry professionals for a meaningful exchange of insight, encouragement, and career guidance. This initiative, led by the AGC Construction Education Foundation, continues to serve as a launching pad for students exploring construction careers. One mentee wrote, “This experience made me more confident in my future in construction. My mentor gave me guidance on what to expect, how to grow, and how to stand out.” Another said the program helped them “figure out my path and what roles in the industry would fit me best.”
For mentors like Jerri Martin, a Project Manager with Blois Construction who participated in this cohort, the experience was equally impactful. “I wish I’d had a program like this when I was starting out,” she shared. “These students are hungry to learn and just need a nudge in the right direction. One of my mentees and I are still texting even though the formal program has ended.” Jerri also emphasized how the experience helped her grow as a communicator and leader: “It reminded me why I love this industry and how important it is to give back.”
For participating companies, the program creates a bridge to tomorrow’s workforce. Several students found internships through C2C, and one student was hired full-time upon graduation. “That’s the beauty of it,” Jerri said. “It’s not just about sharing advice—it’s about opening doors that students might not have known were there.”
Applications are now open for both mentors and mentees to join the fall 2025 cohort. Whether you’re a student looking for clarity and connection, or an industry professional ready to make a difference, this is your chance to build the future of construction—one conversation at a time.
