Workforce Outreach Coordinator
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Workforce Outreach Manager the Workforce Outreach Coordinator is responsible for programmatic, operational, and administrative support of the Build California program. The Workforce Outreach Coordinator is an integral member of AGC’s Workforce Development team, providing support with project coordination, development, and implementation of initiatives related to the Build California and Workforce Development programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the Workforce Outreach Manager in developing and executing all goals and initiatives related to the Build California program with a focus on outreach strategies and activities for all types of program audiences, including youths, college students, ready-to-work adults, educators/guardians, and industry professionals.
- Coordinates requests, logistics, and material prep for all Build California activations, including meetings, presentations, career fairs, industry events, and more.
- Maintains data and program effectiveness reporting, including contact databases, performance reporting, and social/digital media metrics specific to Build California. Responsible for recording and managing activation data in Salesforce and other data management systems.
- Provides direct technical assistance, materials, speakers, and other resources to educators, school counselors, administrators, community-based organizations, ambassadors, and industry professionals interested in providing students and community members with information about construction careers and training. Maintains all Build California presentation files and materials in partnership with the Brand & Content team.
- Under the supervision of the Workforce Outreach Manager, maintains the Southern California inventory of all program-related materials and merchandise. Conducts quarterly inventory audits, maintains accurate records, and organizes storage space to optimize loss prevention.
- Provides administrative and operational support for the Build California Ambassador Program, including scheduling the Ambassador Forum quarterly meetings, leading communication with Ambassadors and organizations, and managing the Ambassador database.
- Coordinates the development, maintenance, and enrollment of the Build California e-cademy, including issuing certificates of completion, following up with users, and updating user records in Salesforce and other data management systems.
- Assists in program sponsor and donor management for Build California, including invoicing/payment, benefit, and generating confirmations and thank you letters.
- Develops and coordinates project management/organizational tools such as project plans, performance reports, impact metrics, and contact databases/lists to ensure timely and complete delivery and reporting for the Build California program.
- Develops Build California-related content for marketing, newsletters, social media, the Association publications, and the Association website. Partners with the Brand & Content team and the Communications team to ensure key strategies and messaging are executed.
- Provides case management support for counseling and placement services as needed, particularly with graduating high school students seeking placement in trades training or higher education programs, to maximize program impact. Provides guidance on career and training options to interested candidates and connects them directly with pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, other training programs, and/or college or university programs.
- Attends and represents the Association and Build California at networking and other industry events.
- Provides back-up program coordination and administrative support for other AGC Workforce Development programs and services as necessary.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: This position has a 40% travel requirement.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; bachelor’s degree preferred. Can be substituted with at least two years of experience working with youth/students in career exploration/coaching capacity; experience in social/digital media and LMS management. A demonstrated desire and experience working with culturally diverse populations preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: A current CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required.
