A Day in the Life of a Safety Professional

The ESHC Program is perfect for:

  • Aspiring safety and health professionals looking to gain foundational skills and knowledge.
  • Recent graduates or career changers eager to enter the safety field.
  • Individuals working in construction, manufacturing, or other high-risk industries who want to enhance workplace safety.
  • Those seeking an affordable, accessible pathway to earning a respected safety credential without prior work experience requirements.

About the Program

The ESHC program delivers a well-rounded safety education through a mix of on-demand, virtual, and in-person training. Participants will complete essential courses, including OSHA 30, Confined Space Competent Person, Trench Shoring & Excavation Competent Person, Fall Protection, and CPR/First Aid certification. You’ll also gain hands-on insights with Safety Leadership Training and experience working with Cal/OSHA regulations.

One of the most accessible certification programs in the industry, ESHC has no prerequisites. Whether you’re just starting your career or transitioning into safety, this program is your ideal first step. If you already hold a valid OSHA 30 card or other certifications that meet program requirements, we’ll waive those components, allowing you to focus on the other training and practical skills needed for certification.

Participants will also have access to an OSHA glossary, a valuable resource to familiarize yourself with key terms and concepts in workplace safety. This glossary is designed to support your learning and ensure you’re fully prepared to navigate OSHA regulations and standards.

To solidify your understanding, you must attend two AGC of California Safety & Health Council Meetings, submit written reflections on your takeaways, and complete other training offered through our learning management system (LMS). The program culminates in a required one-day, in-person practical training and a comprehensive 50-question final exam, ensuring that graduates are ready to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

Application Based Program

The Entry Safety & Health Professional (ESHP) program operates on a quarterly application cycle. Accepted participants will be notified at the start of each quarter and scheduled for an onboarding call. During this session, they’ll receive an overview of the program, have the opportunity to ask questions, and work with our team to develop a personalized schedule for completing requirements that fits their lifestyle and responsibilities. This flexible approach ensures participants can progress at a pace that works for them while receiving the support they need to succeed.
