Asbestos Contractor/ Supervisor Initial Training
This course meets the Cal/OSHA AHERA training requirement for Asbestos Contractor/Supervisors. Students will review, in detail, EPA, OSHA and California regulations which apply to asbestos work.
The topics covered in detail are: the history and uses of asbestos, health effects, protective equipment, work practices, inspections, safety, and more. In addition to the minimum EPA requirements, students will cover issues of current and enduring importance in the field of asbestos contracting and supervision. Instructors take the time to cover topics of importance to individual students. In-depth coverage of important issues allows students to go back to their work places to supervise and work on asbestos abatement jobs. The course includes timely updates and is presented in ways that challenge the students to gain a deeper and continuing knowledge of the topics that affect their jobs. The class consists of classroom and hands-on instruction.
Certificate of Completion: A CALINC Training Certificate documenting Cal/OSHA Asbestos Contractor/ Supervisor (Competent Person) Initial training is awarded to each student who attends the course and passes the required written exam. Full attendance is mandatory.
