Construction Planning & Scheduling Certificate Program
Brought to you by the Emerging Leaders Program! Planning and scheduling are central to the construction process. How well we plan and schedule affects not only the time required to build, but also cost, productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. These courses are for everyone involved in project success.

Participants will learn critical planning and scheduling concepts, methods, and skills. This is a 4-unit 12-hour program, delivered in 8 sessions of 90 minutes.
Target Audience: Anyone in construction on a project team or involved with planning or schedules. Young professionals and Emerging Leaders Program members qualify for a 10% discount on registration fees. Participants who successfully complete the 4-units receive a digital credential and certificate in addition to a hard hat sticker.

Participants are introduced to essential planning principles and core scheduling concepts, methods, and tools. You will come away more confident in participating in the planning and scheduling process.
May 19 & 26, 2023, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PT: UNIT 2 – Milestones & Measurement
Increase your planning and scheduling skills to get better results on your projects
Building on the lessons of Unit 1, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to use milestones and “float” to manage and measure project progress. They will learn the basics of pull planning as a team, including a hands-on simulation. They will also learn how to identify and resolve issues before they grow into delays.

Build a reliable scheduling process using the Last Planner® System
Based on Lean Construction principles, The Last Planner® System (LPS) is becoming more widely used in the construction industry. It was developed to help project teams meet their schedule milestones and improve productivity by making work predictable.
June 16 & 23, 2023, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PT: UNIT 4 – Advanced Methods and Tools
Skills and knowledge to better manage your projects and avoid costly delays
In this final unit, participants will learn the basics of handling schedule delays and recovery from both a contractual and practical point of view. They will be introduced to advanced scheduling methods including 4D. And finally, learn how to build a sustainable scheduling program for their organization.
AGC of America recognizes the Planning and Scheduling Series as qualifying for continuing education hours toward the renewal of AGC’s Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean). Each hour of educational content is equal to 1 hour of CE credit. Attendees may earn up to 12.0 hours of CE credit by attending the entire virtual series.
The cost for the series is $550 per person for members and $850 per person for non-members. If you don’t want to register for the entire series, but would like to attend an individual session/unit, contact training@agc-ca.org to register. A-la-carte pricing for individual units is $175 per person for members and $245 per person for non-members. Participants who attend a-la-carte sessions do not qualify for the digital credential, certificate, or hard hat sticker.
