Gilbane Building Company will be sharing their journey on establishing and running Employee Resource Groups (ERG). Three panelists will share their stories, discuss lessons learned and the future vision of the ERGs.

This session includes a presentation followed by a panelist discussion and Q&A. You will hear perspectives from Gilbane’s corporate leadership, one of the influencers of Gilbane’s Pride ERG, and the Chair of Gilbane’s newest ERG – Asian Professionals in Construction (APIC).

About the Instructors

Shaik Sihabuddin
Shaik Sihabuddin , Project Executive (Gilbane Building Company )

Shaik Sihabuddin is a Project Executive with over 19 years in the construction industry and has extensive experience managing complex ground-up construction, alternative delivery projects throughout California. Shaik looks forward to sharing his construction journey, from graduating with a construction degree at Arizona State University to living and working in Reno to his present-day role – and everything he has experienced in-between during his 12 years at Gilbane. Shaik also serves as the Chair for Gilbane’s APIC (Asian Professionals in Construction) Employee Resource Group.

Debi Hertz
Debi Hertz, Senior Project Manager (Gilbane Building Company)

Debi Hertz is a Senior Project Manager with over 27 years of experience in both construction management and general contracting. Her breadth of project experience includes major capital projects in the civic, education, healthcare, commercial and retail markets with multiple delivery methods. Debi has been with Gilbane for over 8 years and was one of the driving forces in establishing Gilbane’s  Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) whose mission is to promote visibility and develop inclusivity. She also actively participates in and supports the HOL@, Ujima, APIC, empoWer and Military Advantage ERG’s.  Debi enjoys building community locally, serving on the CMAA NorCal Education and Awards committees, and volunteers with CERT and the Yolo Food Bank on a regular basis.

Kavon McAdams
Kavon McAdams, Corporate HR - Inclusion Program Manager (Gilbane Building Company)

Kavon McAdams is Corporate HR – Inclusion Program Manager with 29 years of experience at Gilbane. In this role, Kavon’s focus is on leading the development and execution of employee-focused programs, processes, training, and more to make Gilbane a truly inclusive place to work. Additionally, she manages and promotes employee resource groups to support the organization in achieving its strategic priorities. She is a certified HR Professional, Lean Practitioner and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston (Business Management).
