About the Instructors

Melinda Berge joined Joseph J. Albanese in 2018 as a Project Engineer and today serves the company as a Senior Project Manager and Quality Control Manager in Public Works. She oversees projects ranging from emergency services to building new roads, trails, and drainage infrastructure throughout the Bay Area and Santa Cruz County. Melinda’s solution-oriented approach and open communication style ensure a high-quality product for all stakeholders.

Ashley attended UC Davis for Civil Engineering and was a student/athlete for two years Rowing. She also Minored in Construction Engineering and Management. After attending a presentation by Granite Construction her freshman year, she knew where she belonged, heavy civil construction. She started her internship Junior year with Granite and never left! 16 years later and currently a project manager & estimator, she has experienced various projects with wide ranges of scope and complexity that have required pricing, negotiations, planning, and problem solving. Additionally, Ashley is on the Board of the non-profit GiGi’s Playhouse – Sacramento, the Board for Women Off Road Riders, the board for ASCE CI Sacramento Section, and Vice Chair of AGC Emerging Leaders. She is married with 2 beautiful children, 1 of which has Down syndrome. On her ‘spare’ time, she enjoys racing dirt bikes and snowboarding with her family.

Katelyn Moore has been a key member of Buzz Oates for over seven years, initially joining as a Development Project Manager and earning a promotion to Senior Development Project Manager in 2024. She has managed the development of more than 3 million square feet of commercial, industrial real estate, primarily in Northern California and Nevada, including notable projects in Sacramento, Stockton and Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. In her senior role, Katelyn is serving in a leadership capacity within Buzz Oates and is a participating member of the AGC Emerging Leaders Steering Committee.
